Pour la septième édition du festival, le MaMA Event 2015 lance le pass full access ! Désormais, tu peux acheter des pass journée qui te permettent d’accéder à toutes les salles, et des pass trois jours, afin de tenter le marathon musical : voir les 120 concerts. Le Transistor te met au défi et te fait gagner un pass 3 jours. En attendant, on te déroule la programmation du 14 au 16 octobre histoire que tu puisses commencer à t’organiser.

Mercredi 14 octobre, c’est la Cigale qui donne le signal du départ avec la folk de Elvis Perkins, les explosifs Born Ruffians (vus au Trabendo) et le duo AaRON (lire l’interview) en tête d’affiche. A deux pas de là, le Divan du Monde part sur le projet Bristol, mené par Marc Collin, pour reprendre tous les grands morceaux qui ont marqué la vague trip-hop. La soirée continue avec Natacha Atlas qui présente un nouvel album jazz-world produit par Ibrahim Maalouf, les Allemands Malky au r’n’b remanié sauce electro, le carnet de route des Israëliens The Angelcy, le retour des Innocents (en duo), et la nouvelle sensation pop Alice on the Roof. A la Boule Noire, Radio Elvis (vu au Pan Piper) se perd entre Eiffel et Dominique A, Last Train (vus à Rock en Seine) se prennent pour des grands, et Roscoe part en rock poétique. Au Trois Baudets, le Canadien Alex Nevsky dévoile son amour pour les sommets, Joon Moon offre un écrin soul à Krystle Warren, et Bruce Brubaker livre ses reprises de Philip Glass avec adresse. Au Backstage, on se laisse gagner par la ferveur de Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, pour se retrouver désarçonné par le post jazz de Grand Pianoramax, le garage tropical de Papooz, et l’ovni post-rock coréen : Jambinai. Au Bus Palladium, la prog est plus accessible avec la pop du jeune Tim Dup, la baroudeuse Jain aux compositions colorés, et les hymnes un peu trop faciles de Shake Shake Go. Au Petit Moulin, ce sera la pop western de Fiona Walden et les plages sombres et froides de Einleit (lire l’interview).

En deuxième partie de soirée (et oui, il y a quarante concerts par jours !) on se dirige vers le Centre Musical FGO Barbara pour l’electro-acoustique dépaysante de Mariama, le blues africain de Blick Bassy, puis tuareg de Tera Kaft, et le rock oriental de Temenik Electric. Au Théâtre de l’Atalante, place à la mélancolie de la douce Blondino, suivie de Pain-Noir, alias la réincarnation de St. Augustine, et les chansons rock de Louves. Chez Moune, on a hâte de voir Say Yes Dog, leur live sera suivi d’un DJ set du Mexicain Cubenx signé chez InFiné, et des fresques sonores de Holy Strays. A la Foule-Bas, on part dans la pop expérimentale de Hey Elbow, et la post wave de Maestro tandis qu’à la Foule-Haut, ça se la joue rap avec Bavoog Avers et Lomepal. Enfin à la Machine du Moulin Rouge, on est curieux de la pop- electro de JoyCut, de voir ce qu’est devenu le batteur des Coming Soon dans The Pirouettes, et on finit tranquillement avec une Verveine (ah ah ah ah !).

Jeudi 15 octobre, c’est encore la Cigale qui ouvre le bal avec le bricoleur Broken Back, l’ensorceleur violoniste Chapelier Fou (lire l’interview) et le Suédois qui fait fondre tous les glaciers Jay-Jay Johanson. Au Divan du Monde, le tourneur Alias présente les intrigants de The Frankin Electric avec leur douce alt-pop, l’inventive Rozi Plain, et l’electron libre Selim. Ces concerts sont suivis d’une soirée French Beat avec Christine, MiM feat Anna Kova et Gordon. A la Boule Noire, c’est la Bankiz Fever de l’Igloo avec le rock de The K., le reggae dub de Resonators et le hip hop de Dizraeli & DownLow. Les Trois Baudets se font une soirée danoise avec la folk de Dad Rocks!, la rencontre entre piano et électro de Palace Winter, pour finir sur Lydmor & Bon Homme aka Jenny Rossander et Thomas Hoffding de WhoMadeWho (lire l’interview). Au Backstage, les groupes franciliens sont à l’honneur avec l’ethno-pop psyché de In The Canopy, l’afro-electro malienne de la belle Inna Modja, la folk’n’beat yéménite de A-Wa et la rumba electro de Pierre Kwenders. Au Bus Palladium, on retrouve les Bombay Show Pig (lire l’interview) se produisant désormais sous le nom de Bombay, Kuenta I Tambu pour une ambiance afro-caribéenne, et le blues garage des Libanais The Wanton Bishops. Au Petit Moulin, vous risquez de croiser Le Transistor devant l’Australien Hein Cooper – découvert par le manager de Half Moon Run (vu en première partie de Patrick Watson), et surtout le trio Caandides (vus à La Flèche d’Or) qui s’apprête à sortir son premier album.

En deuxième partie de soirée, le manager Bellevue Musique prend d’assaut le Théâtre de l’Atalante pour (re)présenter l’intense Laura Cahen, le songwriter écorché Armand Melies, et Captain Kid en touche plus légère. Au Centre Musical FGO Barbara, on bouge au son hip hop de Lexxus, de l’afrobeat de Lagbaja, avant de vibrer avec Saul Williams et Leron Thomas. Chez Moune accueille la Soulbeats Records Party avec Naâman, LMK et Rootwords, suivi du set deep house du producteur Chris Dogzout et de l’hy(dé)bridé Tom Fire. A la Foule-Bas, on s’éclate au son du garage punk beat de The Deaf, et de la pop danoise (donc imparable) de Chinah quand à la Foule-Haut, on fait le grand écart entre l’electro de Pavane et le hip hop de Charles X. Pour (se) finir à la Machine, on se lâche sur le métal cinématographique de Hypno5e, le dark-synth (ou revival synthwave) de Perturbator et la minimale du Libanais Radio KMV.

Vendredi 16 octobre, le marathon touche à sa fin, donc on donne tout ! A la Cigale, après les prétentieux Kid Wise (vus aux Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges), et les surestimés Heymoonshakers, on espère que Is Tropical (lire l’interview) est encore capable de nous surprendre. Au Divan du Monde, on se laisse prendre par la pop léchée de Tahiti Boy & the Palmtree Family (lire l’interview) et l’alt-pop de Meadowlark, on redécouvre Revolver avec le joli Ambroise Willaume qui part en solo sous le nom de Sage, on danse sur Acid Arab, et on renoue avec Rachid Taha (vu au Trianon). A la Boule Noire, il faut absolument que vous alliez voir les frangins de Ropoporose (lire l’interview), la carte blanche à Jerkov se poursuit avec la pop psyché de I Me Mine et le math-rock des Portugais Paus – en formation avec deux batteurs ! Aux Trois Baudets, Hannah Lou Clark sort les griffes, Noiserv se révèle plus délicat que son nom l’indique, et Maïa Vidal séduit de ses mélodies accrocheuses. Au Bus Palladium, le duo rock franco-américain Tilli & Junior Rodriguez promet d’être haut en couleur, Mutiny on the Bounty – entre math-rock et electro- risque de vous foutre une belle claque, et Svper vous fera revisiter les années 80 sous le spectre de l’electro contemporaine barcelonaise. Au Petit Moulin, on découvre Minou sur le fil tranchant entre variété et pop française, et VKNG (lire l’interview) entre fureur et douceur disco.

Pour finir le festival, au Backstage Nicolas Michaux prend un Nouveau Départ pop, le hip hop de La Gale puise dans le blues et le rock, Fragments (lire l’interview) va vous filer des frissons, et Isaac Delusion (vus au Point Ephemere) propose rien de plus qu’un DJ set. Au Théâtre de l’Atalante, soirée French VIP : les Rouennais de Steeple Remove (programmés à la Ferme Electrique) reviennent après 6 ans d’absence avec l’album Position Normal, les quatre producteurs d’Örfaz marchent dans les sillons de C2C (lire l’interview), et la rage de No Money Kids risque de vous emporter. Chez Moune, les Belges de Vuurwerk donnent dans l’electronica, les mystérieux Ghost of Christmas partent en science fiction, et La Mverte se paie un DJ set. Au Centre Musical FGO Barbara, le label Jarring Effects se lance dans une création mêlant electro et hip hop et met le cap sur Detroit avec D.Lights. Puis Mbongwana Star prend la relève du Staff Benda Bilili, Sly Johnson (vu à la Cigale) part élégamment en vrille, et Batida va vous faire danser malgré vous avec son electro-kuduro. A la Foule-Bas, ça s’annonce mou entre Philemon Cimon et Holy Oysters, tandis qu’à la Foule-Haut, c’est pas mieux avec OK Lou, mais heureusement Krismenn & Alem vont réveiller tout ça. Enfin à la Machine (pour les survivants), K.Flay s’émancipe en hip hop, Dodoz renaît de ses cendres avec Las Aves, et John Baillie Jr. de Dananananaykroyd a trouvé sa moitié en Amandah Wilkinson pour créer Bossy Love.

Comme tout ça est un beau foutoir, on vous a met le programme avec coups de cœur/incontournables et découvertes à ne pas louper.
