Naive New Beaters à la Cigale
En bons fans des Naive New Beaters, Le Transistor était à la Cigale pour les voir défendre leur nouvel album La Onda. La salle affiche complet, la foule est gonflée à bloc par Rich Aucoin, il ne manque plus que quelques palmiers gonflables pour que l’ambiance soit parfaitement Wallace.
Niveau costumes, les Naive New Beaters ont troqué leurs pulls de grand-mère (oui ça fait trop hipster maintenant) contre des habits de lumière mexicains : les perles ça brille plus sous les lasers. Et pour rajouter au côté décalé, David Boring est allé piquer la toque de Davy Crokett pour l’assortir à sa chemise zébrée.

Niveau choré, on ne perd pas pied. Le trio fait n’importe quoi, mais dans l’ordre et chacun sur son estrade, histoire qu’on s’y retrouve. David Boring s’évertue encore et toujours à motiver la foule, que ce soit en sautant sur place, en donnant des coups de bassin suggestifs ou en montant les marches histoire que le public applaudisse son postérieur. « Si tu sais chalouper du bassin it’s your time » balance-t-il en guise d’introduction de ‘La Onda’.
On nage entre tous les styles : le pento dans les cheveux d’Eurobelix fait sixties, le pantalon blanc moulant de David Boring fait très seventies, les solos de Martin Luther BB King sont marqués eighties, les slams du public sont on-ne-peut-plus nineties, la fusion du rap, du rock et de l’electro sonne OOs. Et tout le love envoyé tout au long du concert pourrait bien être une marque de notre ère. Aussi on ne s’étonne même pas de voir débarquer des cheerleadeuses mais surtout Oxmo Puccino sur ‘Live Good’.
C’est un foutoir monstre dans une ambiance bon enfant : choré débile sur ‘Wow Now’, déclaration d’amour sur ‘Fourteen’, puis les girls montent sur les épaules des guys pour ‘Just Another Day‘, Eurobelix fait un câlin à David Boring, David Boring chope son genoux dans sa main et danse pour épater la galerie, la foule reprend la danse des doigts sur ‘L.A.’, on se prend même à vouloir faire le robot sur ‘Bang Bang’ parce qu’ici tout est permis.
Bientôt, David Boring est à bout de souffle, Eurobelix déboussolé esquisse des pas de country sur ‘The Last Badaboum’ tandis que Martin Luther BB King continue de sautiller gaiment… Mais la foule trépigne, faisant trembler le sol de la Cigale. Et quand David Boring annonce la dernière chanson, il se prend une huée assourdissante ! « Si t’es prêt à donner du bouh t’es prêt à donner du love » répond-t-il avant d’enchaîner sur ‘Get Love’.
Pas étonnant que les Naive New Beaters, sûrs de leur coup, aient préparé deux rappels. Le trio reviendra donc sous une pluie de confettis bleus et jaunes pour finir le concert en beauté au son de ‘Jersey’.
